Devil's Alley Details
Featuring seasonally updated American comfort food and barbecue, the Devil’s Alley is a great place to go for lunch, dinner and even happy hour.
The space is cool and sleek — narrow and cement-walled (like an alley) but tempered by lots of greenery and hanging plants. The main dining area is on the first floor, while upstairs is the Alley Bar, where an open-air balcony overlooks bustling Chestnut Street.
The menu has a lot of hearty choices. Whatever you do, start with the spicy dry rub grilled chicken wings — they’re amazing. Other favorites include the mac and cheese, a formidable selection of half-pound burgers and St. Louis-style ribs.
Wash it down with one of the local microbrews that the Alley constantly has on draft. Updated seasonally, look for brews from the Philadelphia region’s bevy of excellent breweries, like Dogfish Punkin Ale, Sly Fox Oktoberfest and Troegs Nut Brown Ale. The bar also offers a nice selection of fun specialty cocktails.
And while you might feel like you made a deal with the devil after enjoying such a satisfying meal, relax… you're sin-free.
