New Year's Day
8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
The Kimmel Center, conveniently located at Broad and Spruce Streets, is a great home-base for Mummers-watching on New Year’s Day.
You can watch the Mummers strut up Broad Street on the street out front and then head inside the Kimmel to warm up and to enjoy refreshments and free entertainment.
The Kimmel’s grand lobby, Commonwealth Plaza, will open its doors to New Year’s Day revelers celebrating the Philadelphia Mummers New Year’s Day Parade on Thursday, January 1, 2008.
The Peco Café in Commonwealth Plaza will have a variety of refreshments for sale, including hot chocolate as well as a variety of tasty Philly fare for hungry parade-watchers including hot dogs, soft pretzels, soups, salads, and other fare.
For the adults, an assortment of Philly-brewed beer, wine and specialty martinis will be for purchase as well.
New Year's Day Brunch
There are also two great New Year's Day brunch options available at the Kimmel Center from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
The Family Friendly Celebration on Tier One includes a glass of champagne for adults, face-painting and games for the kids and a panoramic view of the parade. In addition to fritatta, bacon, turkey and bagels, a kids' menu serves pancakes, French toast and scrambled eggs.
The Cadence Celebration on Tier Two includes a glass of champagne, a panoramic view of the parade from a balcony overlooking Broad Street and an upscale brunch buffet with smoked salmon, beef tenderloin, an omelet station and more. Football fans can even watch their favorite games on the restaurant’s large-screen television.
