The best view is on the east side of the property, where steep cliffs drop off to the Delaware River, providing a dramatic overlook.

Relax in the quiet hush of a wilderness sanctuary almost entirely covered in forest, except for an area around the preserve office and four small meadows at the top of the hill. Walk the variety of trails that weave throughout the trees, including some steep hills.
Marvel at the many birds that stop here each year during migration, especially the neo-tropical migrants.
The location along the slopes of the river give a distinct topography to the forest, so you’ll notice a difference in the landscape, with oak trees growing on the north slope and a mix of oak, sweet birch and tuliptree on the south.
COME PREPARED
The preserve is open from sunrise to sunset. Pets must be leashed, alcoholic beverages, motorized vehicles and mountain bikes are all not permitted. Maps and other material are available in the kiosk by the parking area.
DON'T MISS
Wild turkeys are fairly common and the younger sections of the forest are ideal habitat for ruffed grouse.
