Visiting Philadelphia during the July 4th weekend? This guide will help you get around the city during the festivities.
And be sure to visit our Getting Around page for more information.
SEPTA
SEPTA bus, trolley and rail services are a convenient way to reach many of the events taking place throughout the city.
On July 4, all SEPTA services will operate on Sunday schedules. However, for passengers traveling to the concert and fireworks at The Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Broad Street Line and Market-Frankford Line trains will offer a special late-night schedule. Regional rail trains will operate from Center City after 11:30 P.M. on all lines, with the exception of the R6 line.
Use SEPTA's Trip Planner to assist in planning your route.
Phlash
The purple Phlash trolleys connect 21 key locations throughout Center City, including Penn's Landing and the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the locations for the weekend's concerts and fireworks. Trolleys arrive every 12 minutes and cost only $2 a ride, $5 for an all-day pass and $10 for a family pass.
Extended hours: The Phlash will operate until 7 P.M. on Friday, July 4 and until 11 P.M. on Saturday, July 5. Historic Philadelphia Trolley Loop
While experiencing the museums, galleries, shops and restaurants in Historic Philadelphia, use the Trolley Loop, which makes 10 stops throughout the area. The trolley costs just $2 for all-day service from 10 A.M. to 7:30 P.M., with departures every 15 minutes.
Parking
If you choose to drive, there are convenient parking facilities located throughout Center City.
Visit The Philadelphia Parking Authority to find a parking garage or lot near your destination.
